We're using the TOP2049 programmer for quite a while now and as you can find elsewhere on the internet there are problems using it under Windows 7.
The solution here was to hook it up on a USB 1.1 switch (NOT USB 2.0!) and to power the programmer via an external 5V power supply.
Now it runs on Windows 7 programming ATMEL, PIC processors and Eproms.
The software currently in use is TOPWIN ver. 6.32f. Driver is TOPUSB1 Jungo Ltd. revision 10.0.0.0.
I changed the programming delay from the default 100 uS to 5 mS resulting in a bit slower programming but the end effect is that i don't have any programming fails now.

To erase eproms we use a `EPROM-UV-Löschgerät 220 Volt/32 Watt` probably made by the german manufacturer Isel. You might call this a real gang eraser as it contains 4 tubes of 8Watt. Erasing 27C256´s takes only 6 to 8 minutes.
